Black and White
Well…not quite black and white. More of a sepia tone really. I grew up on black and white photography. At the time, almost every serious photographer worked in black and white. I still like the looks of a good greyscale print. At some point , I discovered the magic of toning prints and I was immediately addicted. Although it was decades out of style at the time (and still is) I still love the subtlety that toning creates in a print. I prefer it to the starkness of pure black and white.
These days, there is no need to use a chemical bath or even attempt toning in Photoshop. I simply use Nik Silver Effects. It’s silly simple and produces great results with more options than imaginable for tweaking images if you choose.
Note, small images in the slideshow and gallery (the series of photos below the slideshow) don’t really do the pictures justice. Click on any gallery image to see a larger image and scroll through the selection. I promise, it’s worth the effort.
