Herons
There is something about herons that seems to speak to all of us. It could be their impressive size, their obvious dinosaur linage, their seeming patience as they wait for their prey or the fact that they are so widely distributed. There are herons on every continent except Antarctica and some, like the Great Blue Heron, have colonized most of north and central America.
Regardless of the reasons, capturing a range of herons has become an ongoing project for me. On this page is a selection of my favorite heron pictures.
